I live in Bristol, UK with a collection of vintage microscopes including Cooke Troughton and Simms, Vickers and Baker. The pride of my collection is a Nikon S L-Ke with an interference phase attachment.
I spend a great deal of my time attempting to restore old microscopes and using them to take pictures of microscopic creatures. I also try to fix, embed and cut thin sections of specimens on a microtome. The microscope blog records these endeavours and unlike many professional science blogs I record my failures as well as my successes!
Below are some photographs of my pride and joy, the Nikon S L-Ke, taken by my dear friend Richard McMellon. More of Richard’s artwork can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37568385@N07/

What fun! If you’re into vintage things, maybe you can leave “three things” for me to include in the little serial story I write for my blog. Three random things — but it’s a 1920’s story, http://teagansbooks.wordpress.com/three-things-serial-story/
Enjoyed your blog.
